Welcome to Fife’s East Neuk
A Premium, Private & Customisable Cycling Experience
Discover Scotland's beautiful fishing villages, spectacular coastline and hidden countryside on a private guided bicycle adventure designed around you.
Colourful fishing harbours, centuries-old villages, winding rural roads, rolling farmland and sweeping views across the Firth of Forth. Welcome to the East Neuk of Fife, one of Scotland's most beautiful and characterful coastal regions.
Far removed from the busy tourist routes, the East Neuk is a place of remarkable natural beauty, fascinating history and traditional Scottish coastal life. Small fishing villages cluster around picturesque harbours, narrow streets wind between historic stone cottages, and quiet country roads connect communities that have retained much of their distinctive charm.
And what better way to discover it all than by bicycle or e-bike?
This is not an ordinary sightseeing tour. It's a premium, completely private experience, combining the joy of cycling with local history, stunning scenery, beautiful villages and the freedom to explore at your own pace.
With your own experienced local guide, comfortable bicycles or electric bikes, and private return transportation, you'll enjoy an unforgettable journey through one of Scotland's most special landscapes.
Whether you're looking for a relaxed coastal ride, a full-day adventure or something truly bespoke, we'll create an experience that works for you.
Your Day, Your Way
A Truly Private Experience
No strangers. No rigid group itinerary. No pressure to keep up.
This experience is exclusively yours.
Unlike our scheduled city tours, the East Neuk experience is designed around your group, your interests and the kind of day you'd like to enjoy.
Some guests want to spend as much time as possible exploring the beautiful coastline and historic villages. Others prefer a shorter, gentler ride with opportunities to stop for photographs, coffee, food and local experiences.
Perhaps you're fascinated by Scottish history. Maybe you're passionate about food and drink, art, nature or photography. Or perhaps you simply want to enjoy a beautiful day cycling through one of Scotland's loveliest regions.
I can collaborate with many exceptional local experience providers. Why not spend time foraging the coast for edible seaweed, beach comb for special memories, finish off the ride with a seaside sauna and wild swim? Perhaps whisky is your thing, lets visit the local distillery, or maybe you have always dreamed of meeting the famous Highland Cows…it’s all possible.
We'll work together to create the right experience.

The Journey — From St Andrews into the East Neuk
Our adventure typically begins in historic St Andrews (or wherever you like), but today we're leaving the famous landmarks behind to discover a very different side of Fife.
As we cycle southwards, the landscape opens into rolling farmland, quiet country lanes and beautiful rural scenery. We'll pass historic estates and traditional farm buildings, enjoying the peaceful countryside before the coastline and charming fishing villages of the East Neuk begin to appear.
Elie & Earlsferry — Golden Sands and Coastal Beauty
Our first coastal destinations are the beautiful neighbouring communities of Elie and Earlsferry, where expansive sandy beaches, traditional cottages and sweeping views across the Firth of Forth create one of Scotland's most picturesque coastal settings.
We'll explore the villages, discover their fascinating history and enjoy the wonderful seaside atmosphere, with opportunities to stop for photographs, refreshments or simply to appreciate the scenery.
St Monans — A Village Steeped in History
Few places capture the character of the East Neuk quite like St Monans. Traditional stone cottages descend towards a picturesque working harbour, while narrow streets reveal centuries of fishing and maritime history.
We'll discover its remarkable medieval church overlooking the sea, alongside the historic salt pans and distinctive windmill that offer a fascinating glimpse into the village's industrial past.
Pittenweem — Heart of a Working Fishing Community
Pittenweem, “the place of the cave”, remains one of the East Neuk's most authentic working fishing villages, where colourful boats and the activity of the harbour reflect a centuries-old relationship with the sea.
We'll explore its winding streets, historic buildings and fascinating local stories, discovering a village that combines its traditional fishing heritage with a thriving contemporary arts community.
Anstruther — Maritime History and Fish & Chips!
Our journey can continue to Anstruther, a lively coastal town renowned for its attractive harbour, rich maritime heritage and celebrated seafood.
We'll explore its historic waterfront and discover the stories of the fishing industry that helped shape the East Neuk, with the opportunity to enjoy some of Scotland's most famous fish and chips before our private return transfer or next unique local activity, the choice is yours.

I have curated the route to be as easy as it can be, but Glasgow is a city built on a few hills. There will be some inclines to tackle but if you are in any doubt, you can choose an E Bike and forgo any challenges. Our pace will always be relaxed and in 6 years I have never left anyone behind! Cycling is relative, if you would like my advice, get in touch.
-
Glasgow has a myriad of well signed and separated bicycle lanes which keep us out of traffic. To get to the best parts of the city we will use these the vast majority of the time and only link the lanes up with quiet stretches of road. My overriding priority at every moment of our tour is the safety of my guests and the route we take emphasises this.

Our start point is next to St Enoch Subway Station which has luggage storage for £5 a day, there is also storage at Central Station and Queen Street Station. Please allow time to sort this out before your tour start.
-
Children under the age of 13 are not permitted on the scheduled tours but can be booked as private tours. If the child is confident at cycling then they are absolutely welcome on a private tour and the logistics can be discussed before hand. E Bikes are for 14 years and over by law.
-
Absolutely! Just let me know in advance so I don’t arrive with a bicycle for you.
-
A question I have been asked more times that any other! Simply put, sometimes I know and sometimes I don’t. Glasgow has been built up over 1600 years so feel free to ask the age of any wall you see and I will try my best!
